No, I think he really means Aragon. Why does it have to be the same as the Strider?

This coming from the woman who named her kid after the VP?
;-)
(I *GUESS* I'll let you off the hook for coming up with a suggestion, since you have to come up with another name for yourself here soon.)

What happened to my own suggestions (i.e., Frederico or Lucien)? I am offended that it didn't even make the list. To make it worse, None-of-the-above made it on the list. What kind of a name is that?!?

Suggested name: Julia

You want my boy to be "bencong"? (Not there is anything wrong with that)
Julia is for a boy's name. tsk tsk tsk , that's a girl's name. Why don't you use it for you own son?
I'd rather pick Dennis' suggestion: Frederico or Lucien.

Alio. Your original girl name is hard to let go of.
Don't use Carter, cause half of my fictional characters seem to be named that.

Please don't use a first name that may be confused with a girls name or that has an easy girls nickname. This is the US and if the kid is raised in the US he will never forgive you. (remember the song?) My suggestion is for a middle name. The argument for it is "Tradition" at least my mother tryed to start on. First born son, middle name = Edward. (I have your "IP" and I'll be watching) rec

Life's not easy for a boy named Sue.
That being said,
1.) That may be the US, but this is Northern California, and i doubt kids going to school in the Berkeley School system would bat an eye at any of these names ('cept maybe "none-of-the-above" which seems to be doing well votes-wise.)
2.) The boy is going to have my last name, and that's about as much tradition as we can stomach. (and two generations ain't much of a tradition in any event)

If Adolf is an option, then I'd vote for Hitler. Why go for the second best? ;-)

Well.. well...Aison is quite original, it is an evolution from all those male's-name+son. If the kid is eventually going to UCB, what is a name then? Of course, you can name him Berkeley to match exactly with the school's name. Other suggestions will be Phoenix, Scout, Seven (you may get free phone from Sprint), or simply Tom Jr.

tom writes on Monday December 08 2003 @ 05:25PM PST: [ reply | parent ]
tom Jr. is not an option.
Tomson is as close as i'm getting to that and even that has the problem that he'd still end up just being called Tom. (I kinda like Aison, too, i think i may change my vote to it)!

Anonymous writes on Monday December 08 2003 @ 06:49PM PST: [ reply | parent ]
i voted for "B6" although i think "C6" is better because the kid & the dog may get confused when the parents are calling out "B-B, Nooo!!!"
other names to consider:
Hendrik, Johannes, Cruyff (or Cruijff)
for the simple reason that the due date is close to his birthday (25apr1947 for those who don't remember). also nickname was "Jopie" which may or may not be good, depends on how the kid turns out.
plus from "La Machine Oranje": Davids, Bergkamp, Kluivert
and from "Les Bleus": Platini, Zinedane, Zidane, and "Thierry Henry" or "Henry Thierry" (not "Henry" by itself).
sorry, was checking out the UEFA & FIFA draws

Will there be a runoff election whereby the winning name from the current list competes with one/some of the None-of-the-above names? Just an idea....
|
|
tom writes on Wednesday December 10 2003 @ 04:17PM PST: [ reply | parent ]
what do you mean "ONE" of the none-of-the above names?
None-of-the-Above is "THE" current leading name.
None-of-the-Above Edward Winoto Crebbs
is the leading candidate.

Your son will have an ego trip all throughout his schooling...
E.g. Multiple choice questions that include as the last choice:
D) None of the above

I like Finn. I also like Tilden -- it definitely stuck in my head these 2 or so weeks I've been thinking about my response. So it's a tie for me. : )

Alexander is the best of the choices on hand, but, this is America, your son will be an American, and your son son should have a name reflecting this, and the great land, country, dream we once were.
P.S. Don't go give my boy a wierd,hippy,tree-hugging geek name or I'll kill you for him

I recommend Nebukadnezar. The wife vetoed it for my kid, and surely my leftovers are sufficient for your seed.
Dispense with froofie milquetoast monikers. Go for Nebukadnezar Menken Crebbs.
